Computing

At Oakwood, we are committed to developing computing skills of all pupils in our care.

We have a very vibrant and well-resourced ICT suite where all classes, from Year 1 - 6, have a double lesson each week. Our aim is to develop inquisitive, critical and life-long learners who are discerning and technologically proficient in a digital world.

In addition to our ICT suite we use iPads to carry out research and to enrich lessons in all subjects. We also have a variety of digital resources such as digital cameras, webcams and digital microscopes and have recently started a Lego Mind storm Robotics club for year 5 and 6 children.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children. Our e-safety strategy enables us to create a safe e-learning environment that protects children from harm, safeguards staff in their contact with pupils and their own use of the internet, ensures the school fulfils its duty of care to pupils and provides clear expectations for all on acceptable use of the internet.
